  • Audrey Hepburn

Although she may be featured on posters in college dorm rooms across the United States, the famed actress Audrey Hepburn was really born in Belgium's Ixelles, a suburb of Brussels. Her mother was a Dutch baroness, while her father was an Austrian-Hungarian citizen who later became a British citizen.

  • Sergey Brin

Russian-Jewish parents gave birth to Google co-founder Sergey Brin in Moscow in 1973, and in 1978 his father requested an exit visa for the family. It was accepted in 1979, and the family moved to Paris and Vienna before settling in the United States later that year, when Brin was six.

  • Natalie Portman

Israeli and American parents gave birth to Portman in Israel. When she was 3 years old, her family relocated to Connecticut, then Long Island. She is a dual citizen of Israel and the United States.

  • Anthony Hopkins

Anthony Hopkins is Welsh, as you can tell by his accent. However, the actor relocated to California in the 1990s, and in 2000, he obtained US citizenship.

  • Emily Blunt

While Emily Blunt has been a resident of the country since 2008, she only recently acquired partial citizenship. Originally, she’s from the United Kingdom.

  • Joseph Pulitzer

Joseph Pulitzer was born in Makó, a town that was once a part of the Austrian Empire but is now in Hungary. Pulitzer is best known for, among other things, convincing the United States to maintain the Statue of Liberty in New York. His forefathers came from Pullitz, Moravia, to that location (now the Czech Republic).
