Below, we have put together some guidelines to help you stick to your New Year's resolutions and have the best chance of achieving them.

 

1. Begin with relatively small goals

You might have been driven and hyped up about your goal, however, you should not let your ambitiousness lead you to unreachable heights. When you want to start going to the gym, for instance,  it is better to avoid the pressure of practicing it every weekday. It is usually recommended to begin with a slow and steady pace in order to get used to it, and then gradually increase the intensity of your workout from there. Giving yourself the opportunity to reach your goal in small steps will help you avoid getting discouraged and demotivated along the way.


2. Ensure that your goal is measurable


The most important part of making a target goal achievable involves specifying it as well as keeping it measurable. If you plan to exercise more, for instance, you can set a time frame such as 30 minutes a day, 5 times a week. Alternatively, if you would like to drop some pounds, you may want to be specific about how much weight you intend to lose. With a measurement, you can easily visualize and recognize the success of your goal.

For instance, instead of thinking of how tired you'll feel after a workout, focus on believing in your objective and always keep reminding yourself of the rewards it will bring and their positive impact on your life. Focusing on the positive aspects of a goal will ensure that you stick to your resolution and that everything you do becomes a reality
